Catherine began her career as an actress and professional writer. But for the last eight years her consuming interest has been in the field of relaxation and individual wellbeing, an interest that has grown from her personal experience of stress:
‘I know myself how challenging circumstances - combined with a susceptibility to stress - can harm both emotional and physical wellbeing. For this reason I have been prompted to have devise a relaxation strategy that works - initially for myself and now for others confronting a similar problem. Long-term stress damages your health. The good news is that there really is something you can do about it.’
In six 1¼-hour sessions, the ‘Simple Relaxation’ course delivers a range of simple, practical and low-impact approaches that enable anyone to reduce stress and increase wellbeing. With ‘Simple Relaxation’ you learn:
At the end of each session, participants are given exercises to practise at home. About 40 minutes a day needs to be available for this to really get the most from the course. All those taking part in the ‘Simple Relaxation’ receive a CD and workbook, which sets out in detail all techniques and information learnt, allowing continued development of relaxation and wellbeing once the course is over.
The cost of the course is £120, with concessions also available.
