Originally from California, Liz Chandler came to Pilates from a professional contemporary dance background. With a BA in Dance from the University of California (UCLA) she went on to perform professionally with companies in both the US and the UK. She taught and lectured in dance for 16 years including; Bath City College and the University of Bath, England. Liz was head of fitness at Circomedia – Centre for Circus and Performing Arts, for 11 years.

 

Liz has been teaching Pilates for 20 years, having trained with Body Control Pilates, with Suzanne Scott and the Pilates Foundation. Liz  has furthered her development over the years and continues to do so with many leaders in the fields of Pilates, fascia, bio-mechanics, anatomy, yoga and somatics in both the UK and US. She also builds on this with her own self study, exploring and researching with in those fields.

 

Known for her attention to detail and ability to explain and translate movement clearly, she will inspire you with her genuine love and knowledge of the practice. She believes Pilates can and will help you move and feel better; it can be used to heighten any movement technique or sport, improve everyday function, alignment and help to relieve pain.

 

Liz is a Pilates educator, known as a teachers teacher. For 15 years she has developed and presented continuing education workshops around the UK and at conferences for the Pilates Foundation UK, Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and IPTA.

 

She presently teaches Pilates at her studios Pure Moves, Frome. She taught at The Scott Studios, Castle Cary for eight years and has worked for Bath Rugby teaching Pilates to premier players for both performance enhancement and rehab settings.
