PILATES FOR RUNNERS with Debbie
Tuesday 11th August, 6:30pm, £15 for 1 hour 15 min class
Get up off your mat and take your Pilates out for a run!!
Use your Pilates knowledge and skills in a practical, functional way to create a running specific workout.
In this class you will learn how to:
– use your body awareness learnt in Pilates to help improve your overall running form and efficiency.
– increase strength by targeting the key running muscles
– ensure that you are not just repeating the same old running drills that you learnt years ago!
If you have a running injury, let Debbie know In advance when you book the class so she can specifically point out exercises and variations that might suit you – or things to avoid!
Debbie has been a recreational runner for over 25 years and is still very slow but loves every step! She has trained with Vivobarefoot to help runners transition to a more natural running style. She is currently training to be a beginners running coach and will also be undertaking training with a specialist running physio to understand better running injuries and their rehabilitation. Her goal is to run the Comrades Marathon in South Africa one day if anyone fancies joining her!
